Chiropody
Corns and calluses on our feet are often caused by elevated forces.
In the case of callus, this is a fancy word for hard skin. In response to high pressure the body will try to protect itself and lay down more skin cells, resulting in callus formation.
Callus can be painful or asymptomatic so may not need treatment. If you think you have callus and it is causing you pain then please book an appointment.
Corns are normally formed because of concentrated pressure in a particular area, caused through footwear or the ground. Common places to get corns would be on the ball of your foot, in between your toes or on the top of clawed/hammered toes. They are focal points of hard skin, usually circular in shape, and can be very painful.
Corns are something that time will not heal as they continue to build over time.
Contact the clinic on 0161 929 7272 or email if you want your corns removing.
We are open Monday to Friday, offering evening appointments for flexibility to our clients. Please call 0161 929 7272 or email info@ukpodiatry.com for more information.
