Verruca
Verruca
A Verruca is a viral infection of the skin, much the same as a wart.
These can be of varying size and number and can occur anywhere on the foot. Classically they are well defined and have little black dots which are blood vessels that have been pushed towards the surface of the skin.
They may or may not be painful. If they are spreading or painful then treatment is required.
The common treatments can be bought from the pharmacy and generally contain a mild caustic. These may cause damage to the surrounding healthy tissues.
Here at UK Podiatry we utilise Cryotherapy (freezing) and Swift microwave, which does not require an anaesthetic and has been shown to be a highly effective treatment for verruca.
At your assessment our Podiatrists will outline the treatment options available to you so that you can make an informed decision on your next step.
If you would like further information about our verruca treatments then please book an appointment.
